STOP TELLING THE WORLD WHAT YOU DO EVERY FREAKING MINUTE: NOBODY CARES!

STOP TELLING THE WORLD WHAT YOU DO EVERY FREAKING MINUTE: NOBODY CARES!

This is the most difficult essay I’ve had to write even when it was as easy getting out of my bed for me, given all the drama we witness littered in all Social Media Pages. I really didn’t have to research much about this one since everyone who has a social media account knows just how much some of us are given to stupidity and the web of lies only possible for people who live in a parallel world where reality has no gravity: enabling these warped minds. What a false sense of belonging and a false sense of being loved when the same people who LIKE YOU in your Facebook post are the very first in line to stab you in your back when the ground underneath your feet suddenly becomes a sinking sand and disappears without the usual hoorays that you’ve actually got addicted to as the very standard of your existence in your miserable life. Life’s all about me and friends are your solid foundations. Mmm, so you think this is what life is all about: ME, ME, ME? Hello.

One would be forgiven to imagine Mark Zuckerberg is spending sleepless nights fascinated and addicted to reading the zillion posts of crazy people like you and me, posting each and every minute in his Portal called Facebook. I believe that Mark Zuckerberg’s most favourite time or moments is when he’s got nothing to do with Social Media contaminating contacts; we call Ghost Friends who LIKe everything you do or say without questioning your absurd desire to be loved by the self-hating world. How wonderful and unbelievable that so many people love you and celebrate your phony public status. “I’m happening.” So you think?

Advancement in technology has brought with it untold pain that we never see played out by the very people we regard as our “friends” who greet us without fail every day as early as 4:00 AM: and never forget to remind us it’s breakfast time at 8:00 AM. I just love these people for their incredible contribution to the advancement of humanity and social dependency. It has become impossible for most people around the world to ever miss their lunch these days, with courtesy from our social media butterflies who are always posting their selfies having lunch: a noble reminder for the forgetful to go grab a burger!

There’s something mysterious about food which always produces happy enzymes in our brains making it easy to smile, laugh and even speak louder than usual selves. We gloat and tend to be relaxed and laid back, even responding more kinder than we would under different circumstances. I also believe that it’s almost impossible to enjoy eating when you feel very agitated and angry and this explains why people always choke when not focusing on the food before them. Our brains are designed to interrupt us in a ‘choking way’ whenever we allow our thoughts to float out of the room where food is served. Angry people rarely enjoy their food because eating demands very basic undivided attention that’s loaded with serious alertness to what we pick for our mouths. This is called appetite in layman’s terms.

Our appetite or edge to desire food is tied to our imagination and generally to all our five senses. Our stomachs depend entirely on all the enticing enzymes deployed from our brains which activates that urge to begin hunting for food at whatever cost. We tend to lose attention for everything else except for our dear hungry stomachs, our baby crying to be loaded so that the whole body can continue to work through the energy generated and gifted to us by the invisible factory workers inside our bellies. We are what we eat!

BRAGGING!

While this quote by Muhammad Ali might have sounded finite and perfect to most people of his day, right to this moment; it stills begs to be challenged, examined thoroughly and factually so. If you can prove you’re better than your neighbour and your neighbour accepts this as your inalienable right to despise and disrespect others due to your condescending attitude. Well, even though Ali was one of the most people imbued with the gift of the garb and enjoyed this unusual witty plethora to reply and respond with incredible ease no matter how fast the interview was flowing at the time. Was he wrong in this famous quote? Well, perhaps God sees this kind of self defense in a different way than we usually do. Check this.

Luke 18:10-14

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

It’s important to note that God didn’t argue, question or demand the Pharisee produce the evidence of all the claims regarding his ‘righteous’ status. God didn’t tell him to shut up because the Pharisee was being untruthful: after all, the man was standing in the Presence of God and didn’t beat about the bush by reminding the very God who had made it Law for this misguided religious leader to practice what he preached. I’m not sure if God was taken back or surprised by all the flippant utterances of this self-righteous man. All humans have this evil tendency to brag locked inside their bones. It’s a lot easier to brag than to remain humble for all of us. Bragging always happens faster than we have time to anticipate how well or negative our self-infatuation will be received by our audience. Obsession with self is often used as a tool to bury our underlying sadness buried deep inside our souls where no man can detect the way we even hate ourselves except God. Well, the Pharisee could prove everything he claimed about his holier-than-thou character and yet God wasn't pleased with him.

Ecclesiastes 5:2

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

During the election campaigns, months before Nelson Mandela became the first Black President in South Africa: watching TV and listening to talk radios was very fascinating and frightening too. I recall watching one of the Pan African Congress (PAC) officials being interviewed on TV, going about how he was preparing to go to America where he’d be raising funds for his organization in detail on live TV. In a very unusual way, the criminals happened to be watching and began their brazen housebreaking enabled by their victim. One day, a furniture moving truck pulled up in front of this moron’s house while he was in America, and stole everything inside his house leaving only the tiles on the floor. I lived a few blocks away from his house and was one of the eyewitnesses who went to the crime scene after the word had gone out about this incredulous theft. Lesson learned!

I really get pissed off and annoyed when I witness just how stupid some people can be within the Social Media cycles like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. These people almost live in a crazy utopia where everyone who reads their public posts is regarded as a dear friend. “Hello, my Facebook friends, as you can see me; I’m preparing to go on Festive Season Holiday”  in Durban, Cape or wherever….later in the same day, you see pictures posted in public by the same idiot leaving, driving or boarding as they leave for holidays as promised one hour later. Fast forward the clock, we find the same douche bag posting selfies arriving at the pronounced destination. “Hello friends, I’m here”. Hallelujah. What is wrong with this, perhaps you ask? Everything….is my answer for you.

I can bet you my last penny that most of the burglaries taking place during the Festive Season and throughout the year, are assisted by the same people who cry wolf later by claiming to be victims of crime after encouraging it on their Social Media Pages. Guilty as Hell. I really don’t give a damn if your property was broken into and had everything of value stolen if you’re one of these morons who believe the world is dying to hear where you are at every single passing minute! Stuff it  up, you invited the thugs and right deserve it 100%. Live with it. I feel no pity for you and would rather give it to the beggar begging for food in the marketplace.

Ever heard of the animal called Social Media Break, Hiatus or Sabbatical in your miserable social disconnection with reality where everyone lies to your face and says, you look stunning even though you are fat as a pig? Social Media is a parallel world and a Panacea for idiots who see no evil and hear no evil: they’ve got their lives cut out for them in a world full of lies where everyone is beautiful and heaped with “likes” and unfathomable “thank you’s”: a true paradise tailor made for the gullible. You won’t be able to realize your full potential and your God given pride till you learn to live as a private citizen not flabbergasted by liars and jesters feeding you dog shit! Wake up from the dead and start living again. Having a peace of mind in the tranquility of your privacy means to breakaway far from the madding crowds: only you can make this happen. Go offline, switch off your phone, read a book or watch a movie and be yourself with yourself. Stop being a sad face in the crowd of wannabes!

I live you with this Curtis Mayfield classic to enjoy. And here's hoping you have a great Christmas and be filled with unspeakable joy as you wade through the remnants or pieces of 2020 in your unwavering quest and search for a better 2021, yours and your family's. God Bless you.
