CHASING THE WIND!

In just one wink at this image, some of you become instant moral police and jump into idiotic assumption opining just how wicked it is for one to use these images in public for selfish reasons. But the same self appointed moral police ignore the fact that whatever is available in public domain is designed for public consumption. Don't laugh at obese people because you'll never know, one day it could be you standing on this pedestal of shame. I never laugh at other people's disabilities, not only because it's immoral: I don't do it because I'm also human like all of them and identify with all the difficulties they face daily.

It takes a lot of courage for these obese individuals to come out of their closets and share with the world just how difficult this life has turned out to be for them. They feel like the whole world has moved on without them and now they're clutching to fading memories of how life once used to be. Like the rest of the so-called normal persons, they once had friends they could count on and always knew they were always thought of as dear and how they appreciated each other. Love and friendship survives through mutual giving and mutual reciprocating.

Now, I really don't know many individuals who could really survive without love and friendship in this life. It always comes down to one's interpretation of the subject since words are always subject to one's ultimate experience through application: rightly or wrongly so. Society always decides and passes death sentences on these individuals hence they lock themselves away in their houses 24/7.

Life in general, is all about trying to catch the wind even though we know in the back of our minds how futile this is but oh, the thrill of deception is addictive and so we continue to press on into nothingness. You determine the pace of your life by the kind of people you surround yourself with because life doesn't come to you like the rain: it happens all around and it's up to you to catch whatever piece or portion you so desire. The only way to conform and fit yourself inside this mould, is to try and catch the wind and pretend you're happy and satisfied. Those among us who decide to fold their hands become nothing and find themselves as misfits and pariahs of the society which rejects them outright without flinching. Belonging and self-identification is imposed on us by definition of simply being human. Adopt or die, we're constantly reminded every single day.

I kind of believe that in life there's not always enough grass to stand on and proudly display your irrefutable achievements and conquests but, Bill Withers in the video below disagrees with me. He insists that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. People on the inside looking out and those outside looking in. Sheepishly, we take life with an enigmatic smile of wilful surrender even though most of the time: we fail to interpret our own desires whenever the opportunity for us to decide arises. We remain victims of the green grass mirage ever looming larger in our distant horizon.

Yirr, I said all these words just to emphasize one thing, and that is for you not to stop running, doing workouts, physical exercises or walking for life every single day in order to keep your heart happy. Keep on chasing the wind and never give up no matter what happens: who knows, maybe just one fine day; you will finally catch the wind. Remember that to million others in this world, are actually struggling to catch a breath in order to survive just one more day. A day is all that you need to make it through the night and into the next day. Our energy was designed by God to last us for that single day He has given us. Please don't worry about a thousand that is still yet to appear in the data of your horizon.

The thing about gaining weight and becoming excessively obese is not like waking up in the morning feeling nauseous and sick as in catching a flu. You are the greatest enabler and a destroyer of your own body thus diminishing your own self esteem when the public make fun of you. You need to learn to love your body more than food and uncontrolled eating. If you allow food to be boss over your body then, consider yourself having lost not only the war but the battle as well. Hasta la vista, we'll see you at your funeral. Your body was designed to indicate when you need to eat, drink water or sleep, etc. therefore, if food becomes the master, your mouth becomes the most busy part of the body by far: as you feed yourself to death. Suddenly, you can't get out of bed and the door becomes too small for you to even go outside because you're trapped inside the self-made prison of your body. Fats hinder and render your ligaments useless leaving you feel like a human being built on chicken skeleton: you're doomed.

If you find it hard to bend forward and touch your toes, watch out. If you find it hard to even reach out and wipe your behind in your most holy place, the toilet: be very afraid; your bulging tummy is getting in the way. Do something and save yourself! Do not fool yourself by pretending you're happy with what you see. Be your own critic when it comes to overweight. You owe it to your body without which you cannot live.

Jogging and running is not everyone's piece of cake and not all people prefer the gym. Whatever, wherever and whenever you decide to shed off the heavy load of fat that's bugging your body remember: you are still responsible for all the moves. I told you a while ago that many people are wasting money by joining the gym and lose out when it comes to being committed and disciplined in keeping up with the exercise regimen. I have seen more fat people inside the gym than fat people shopping at the mall. I sit and watch the same fat people pulling in with their cars and bolt out to the gym time and time again, but still months later: the scale hasn't tipped down an inch. Simple regular exercising and disciplined eating habit; is all it takes for you to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I am no health expert or anything fancy nor carry any academic signature behind my name enough to intoxicate and inspire you to be like me. I am just me being myself and don't wish to be someone else. My body knows me all too well to scream at me whenever I wake up in the morning feeling lazy to go out and exercise. My heart will condemn me for failing to look after it. Did you know that your heart loves a healthy and light body because you make it easy for it to pump and distribute blood effectively evenly thus leaving you with a sound mind?

I will always continue to chase the wind right to my grave for as long as my body allows me. Chasing the wind for me gives the chance to catch the much needed breath which allows me to live and survive another day. I really do not receive calls from friends I don't have, nor from relatives who remind me there are still human beings living in this planet. I get my wave by communicating with the wind as I wade through to earn my rewards for looking after my heart and my body. My body is all the world I live in. Who needs friends when you have a healthy body talking to you every day?

BE A BELIEVER...
  1. Believe in the mirror when standing in front of one and looking at your bloated self. Never argue with the mirror because mirrors, unlike your fake friends never lie about how fat you've become. Always embrace, love and hug the mirror for reminding you about how bad you look.
  2. Make peace with your bathroom scale and always believe her: her readings are the most accurate you will ever get in this life about yourself. Be worried when no positive progress is registered by your weight scale and cry as if someone shot at you when you tip the scale upwards.
  3. Cease and desist from loving all the kinky (offbeat) and wobbly clothes which your body hates. If something is too small to wear, you always have three witnesses to help you decide: the mirror, your eyes and when your body refuses to go in.
  4. If you find yourself buying bigger sizes all the time, this could only mean you're falling off the cliff due to rapid weight gaining. Remember, Be A Believer?
  5. Over sweating, short breath and panting like a dog every time you do something extraordinary like trying to walk faster: be very afraid and take action by having one-on-one with your mirror and weight scale. Make these two guys your best friends.
  6. Take everything in moderation: do not eat for the sake of eating and always obey when your body says: enough.
  7. Do not eat when you are full. Having courage to put your food away in the microwave and leave it for tomorrow can change your world.
  8. Finally, always make sure that it is your body which has the upper hand over food and not the other way round.
  9. Thou shalt not allow food to define you: change your world by changing yourself.
  10. Thou shalt love thy body with all thy soul and mind. Be the good shepherd over thyself.

Till we meet again..
