FAKING IT IN THE SPIRIT!
Faking It In The Spirit!
Growing up as a young high school
Christian within both the Pentecostal and Charismatic circles, underwritten by
the Word of Faith Movement: was quite phenomenal and puzzling.
I still find it hard to believe, just how God kept me together in
terms of putting His Word first in my life. Far ahead of all the destructive nature
of these dangerous doctrines I was exposed to.
It took me years to find my right footing
with God and was forced to realize the fact that my message would not be
acceptable to the same movements I grew under.
If you talk about faking it, you’d be talking about me in the
truest context of my own words.
Yes, once upon a time in my life, I
identified with the Word of Faith, Pentecostal and Charismatic movements even
though my heart wasn’t dearly rooted for the reason of the Word of God.
Looking back over the years, I now see the reasons why most of my
messages were too radical.
I was not a man’s pleaser in terms of
obeying and bowing to the men of God as I was expected to.
On the contrary, I questioned a lot of practices which did not sit
well within my heart as I compared them with the Scriptures. I was a silent
rebel!
Faking it in the Spirit, was the only
choice I had as I bid my time with God. It was very strange to always find
myself surrounded by people who were crying and rolling all over them floors.
O yes, I, like most people, also spoke in tongues even though it
didn’t make sense. I’ve had to fit the cap in order to look the part.
Reading the actual Events of the Day of
Pentecost, did not bode well in my soul when compared with the confusion I was
witnessing daily.
Faking it in the Spirit. I spent countless days and hours over the
years trying to connect our Modern Phenomenon with the Original Events in the
Bible. It was an East to West never-ending contrast.
Faking it in the Spirit. Now after all
these years, I often wondered why I wasn’t quite geared up as the rest of my
fellow brethren and how they related to the recent moves of the Spirit.
I felt as empty as a rock when it came to worship time. Hiding
behind playing the guitar or other instruments during praise and worship; was
the greatest face saver for me.
Faking it in the Spirit. Nothing could
move my heart more than the Word of God. Studying the Word became my only
solitude to hide away from this foreign spiritual abrogation.
The more and the longer I took a closer look at the Life and the
Ministry of Christ through the Gospels, my eyes opened to the Truth hidden in
plain sight by God.
I continued to follow the lives of the
Apostles through the Book of Acts and the Epistles... Wow, this thing is real
and I wondered why it was never even taught in my circles.
Faking it in the Spirit. I thank God through His Spirit for helping
me discover the Only One True Doctrine of Christ.
If the Modern Church had followed closely
and step by step in the Footprints of our Founding Fathers we’d all be speaking
and teaching the same Doctrine today.
There would be no conflicting doctrines in the Church today, all
claiming to represent the same Christ even though contrasting His Word.
Pentecostals, Charismatics, Baptists,
Evangelicals, Adventists, Ecumenical and whatnot.. are all violating the
Doctrine of Christ.
I cannot imagine myself as a standing and committed Christian without
subscribing to the Doctrine of Christ!
But the Comforter, which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my Name, He shall Teach you All Things, and
bring All Things to your Remembrance, whatsoever I have Said unto you.
You see, the whole New Testament is all about One Man called Jesus
Christ the Son of God.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word
was with God. The Word became flesh and lived among us.
The Holy Ghost was sent down by God to Teach and Remind us about the
Doctrine of Christ. Every word Jesus uttered down here below.
No false prophets, teachers and false
apostles would be necessary till the End of Days.
Jesus Christ, Yesterday, Today And Forever... is how the Church of
Today should be rolling!
One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism...
