HELLO, I AM ZACCHAEUS THE PUBLICAN!

COMMENTS..

I cannot begin be to tell you just how difficult it is to write a Story Song. It takes far longer to pen a story song than writing a Poem, Lamentation or just an Essay.

Writing a story song demands I turn into that character 100% in thoughts, lifestyle and capture the scenario complete with doors and windows for my audience to follow step step.

The Zacchaeus Story Song took me more than four days to finally sit down and pen it. I tossed and turned in my bed the other day, thinking like Zacchaeus but alas, my mind needed some resting.

May I invite you to browse and revisit some of my Story Songs I wrote in recent past. I promise, you'll be glad you did. Try the following highlighted topics below.

Well, I can’t remember them all, these will be good enough for your short cut. I encourage you to explore my Library, I have over 200 original works that will bless you richly. There's no stopping me now... this Library will into a gigantic spiritual resource.

God bless you all

Hello, I Am Zacchaeus The Publican!

By the time you read my testament, two thousand years later after the Advent of Christ on Earth.

I believe you must have heard and read about my life story at least a thousand times over.

How I wish I could say, I was an ordinary Jew just like my country men but I can’t.

It’s impossible for me to claim a stake in the day-to-day sufferings most common Jews had to endure under the Roman Oppression.

I also do not feel like I was more deserving to get the attention of Jesus the Son of God. I was a wretched sinner!

I stood out as the most identifiable traitor among the crowds which hated me 100% for being the most reprehensible tax collector.

God had mercy on me by inspiring Apostle Luke to dedicate more than two hundred words in my memory.

I am Zacchaeus. A Jew, born and raised in the famous city of Jericho. I am of the seed of  the Tribe of Reuben.

Given the hundreds of years my people, the nation of Israel had to endure under the oppressive Roman regime.

My parents raised and modelled me to be the best hustler and survivor in all kinds of stormy weather.

Do whatever it takes to ensure I always survive the day. No matter how rough and tough, at all cost for the survival of just one man.. Zacchaeus!

Is it by random coincidence I happened to be born in a once most fortified city like Jericho?

Jericho, the most difficult city to conquer in all the histories of all documented famous conquests.

Like the most fortified city of Jericho stood and sneered in defiance of the armies of Israel... I defied the Ten Commandments and became the brazen thief!

My position as the Chief and CEO of all tax collectors in Jericho, gave me the most powerful advantage to embezzle tax monies.

Not only did I steal from my people, I was also stealing from the Romans who had appointed me into one of the most hated jobs in Israel.

Most Jews viewed us publicans, as worst sinners even more detestable than murderers and adulterers.

I was rich and never lacked anything but still, life was as hard as that of a homeless person.

I counted my money every single day but riches failed to lift me higher than my conscious which condemned me every time I put out my candle to sleep. I was empty!

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. It was not easy for me a Jew, to be the most hated among Jews. I became the pariah of Jericho.

People used to spit whenever they crossed paths with me. I felt even more hatred than the very Roman regime which had occupied Jerusalem for hundreds of years.

One day while standing at my gate, I saw a large crowd walking towards my direction. Someone told me they were following Jesus.

I could not wait to see this Jesus for myself after hearing so many testimonies about His good works.

I tried to push my way through this crowd but was purposely denied and shunted down after they had noticed it was me.

Being a dwarf everything went against me and out of frustration, I decided to run ahead and climbed a sycamore tree.

I was determined to see Jesus that day. And to my pleasant surprise, Jesus looked up and said.. Zacchaeus, make haste and come down for today I must abide at thy house!

I trembled with excitement as I hurried down the tree. Jesus smiled at me as the long faces of the crowd wondered why Jesus was even talking to me.

The Presence and the Love of Jesus embraced my heart and soul helped me overcome all the hatred directed at me.

We walked a short distance and reached my house as all my haters stood outside my gates and others walked away in disgust.

How can this Man be a prophet? Does He even know this man is a sinner?

O for the joy of seating with Jesus at the tables, right inside my own house. Jesus and I enjoyed our sumptuous afternoon meal: It was just divine. I couldn’t hold my tears.

Jesus didn’t preach to me and neither was condescending. The river of the living waters building inside my heart, made it impossible for me to hold my peace.

I stood up and said to Jesus.

Behold Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit. This day is Salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. Peace like a river fell inside my heart and for once in my life... I knew Jesus had saved and delivered me from the love of money and greed.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Him and His Disciples.

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto His Disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

These hypocrites and self-righteous religious fools didn’t understand nor had any clue of God’s Plan of Salvation for all men.

Hello people of Jericho, can you still remember me; I am Zacchaeus the publican and the most hated dwarf in your city?

All the monies I’ve been stealing from the Romans and my people could not fill my empty soul.

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. Jesus gave me what no other man could give in this miserable life of mine and in the Hereafter!

After this incredible encounter with the Son of God, I immediately quit my job as a tax collector.

I also kept my words to Jesus and settled all the monies I stole from the poor...and gave away half of my wealth!

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. Nowadays, I spend my life following the Man of Galilee all over Jerusalem and Palestine.

Jesus changed my whole life through the Power of His Presence. His piercing eyes ripped through my heart and filled all my needs. I am a changed man.

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. I am the Light of the world and if a man believes in me he shall have the Light of Life...said Jesus.

How Beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth Good Tidings, that Publisheth Peace; that bringeth Good Tidings of Good, that Publisheth Salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican! As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is Good News from a far country.

Hello, I am Zacchaeus the publican. The most hated dwarf in Jericho.

Please receive herewith this prayer, my wish for you...

God be merciful unto you, and bless you; and cause His face to shine upon you.. Now and forever more!
