THE IRON LADY!

She had the eyes of an eagle and a killer smile that
says, dare me to your own peril.
Her commanding voice echoed like a trumpet from high up the
mountain. When she called your name, you’d better hurry up and get right behind
her
A tough disciplinarian and mother of six boys and two
girls. Her sons knew their mother was a no nonsense lady. She’d speak and they
had no choice but to obey!
If Heaven permits me, I could emblazon her name in the skies above
for generations to come. To see her calm, soothing and affirmative face.
Ruth Mazibuko was her name and one of the aunts I ever
had in my orphaned childhood. Negro Spiritual says, the Lord moves in
mysterious ways and has some wonders to perform!
The Iron Lady was God’s masterstroke in the finger of His Creation.
God through Ruth, prepared my whole life for the unforeseeable future she knew
was imminent!
I remember how so many countless times my mother and I
travelled to visit the Iron Lady. My mother and her were very close. She
welcomed and embraced me as her own child.
The Iron Lady. I could have never predicted in my limited eight
year life with mom was going to lead to a lifelong walk with the Iron Lady. She
was phenomenal, I loved and respected her absolutely.
Barney Boy! She’d affectionately welcome me with the
widest smile and warm eyes. I knew I was home every time I stepped under the
threshold of her house.
I thank God for the Iron Lady. Ruth Mazibuko reared, shaped and
prepared my life for the future. The Iron Lady remained a pillar in our family
for the rest of her life.
I cannot recall one incident in any day I spent under
the heroic leadership of the Iron Lady... where we ever argued. Our fellowship
was rooted in a genuine mother-son fundamental union. She loved me
unreservedly.
I could write and pen her praises in a million words if there was a
page that long! The Iron Lady was our Matriarch and a respected Judge in all
our family feuds!
I speak for no one but for myself. Even though the
Iron Lady joined the Heavenly Choir a few years ago.
Her unforgettable memories remain embedded in the heart and soul of
mine. Farewell Ruth Mazibuko, my Great Aunt. Rest in Peace and in Power.
Your Scripts that shaped my life remain legible in the
sands of our times together. The Iron Lady.
There will be no one like her, forever!
Damn! Only God knows just how much I miss her killer
smile and commanding gazing eyes. The Iron Lady had a beautiful soul.
I miss her so much. Words are hard to find to describe her loss for
my family! The Iron Lady. God made the only one of your kind!
