JOSEPH GOT HIS TOMB BACK!
Who hath believed our
report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Surely He hath borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we
are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone
to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. And He made His Grave with the wicked, and
with the rich in His Death; He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in
His mouth.
Like in a blockbuster movie: Prophet Isaiah gave the Future
World a Trailer of all the things to come in the life of Jesus Christ, the Son
of God. Jesus made His Grave with the wicked: He was crucified between two
thieves! And with the rich in His Death refers to the brand-new tomb of Joseph
of Arimathaea: the rich man Isaiah was talking about.
When the evening was come, there came a rich man of
Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to
Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be
delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen
cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and
he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed.
Joseph of Arimathaea, the rich man who buried Jesus was more
excited and felt honoured to be burying the King of Kings in his brand-new
tomb. Joseph was one of the many Secret Disciples of Christ who followed Jesus
without being numbered with the Twelve. Joseph got his tomb back after the
Resurrection of Christ!
Joseph never knew that Isaiah the Prophet, had prophesied
about his random act of kindness some 700 years before the Birth of Christ. What
a man! This rich man had a special place in the heart of God since the Prophet
mentioned him exactly 700 years before his time. I have never read about many
people out of the seven billion citizens of the Earth who got this prominence
and grabbed Heaven’s attention like Joseph.
The man got his tomb back after the Resurrection of Christ
but decided against using it for himself. Since then, Christ’s Tomb has never
been occupied by another mortal to this very day. Joseph of Arimathea: what a
man!
Wow, the man got his tomb back, but decided to dedicate to
the Memorial of Christ forever. Today, millions of Pilgrims to the Land of
Judah have lined up to visit the Tomb where the King of Kings was once buried.
I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not
the God of the dead but of the living. Why seekest the living among the dead,
Jesus Christ is Risen from the dead!
The old serpent the Devil, thought killing Jesus would give
him the total victory he’s been seeking since God told him about the Seed of
the Woman which shall bruise his head. Jesus dying on the Cross was God’s way
of displaying His Everlasting Love for the World. For God so loved the World
that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus died for you and me, in order for us
to escape the second tormenting death in Hell forever. Walk and stay with God
today in order to live with God forever: make Heaven your final destination and
this is the Will of God for you.
My mind rolls back to 1982 where the late great Evangelist,
S.M. Lockridge said these profound words: “The other thief mocked Jesus on the
Cross: if thou be the Christ why don’t you save us and yourself?” Jesus didn’t
respond to the thief’s jesting and mockery, and I guest by His silence,
continued the Evangelist: Jesus was saying in His heart and mind: just wait
till Sunday morning, I am going to show you it is greater to rise from the dead
than to step down from the Cross.
I am the Resurrection and the Life: I lay my Life down and
take it back again, said Jesus, the Resurrected Christ! Joseph got his tomb
back and a greater reward is still waiting for him in that Great Marriage of
the Lamb. You can also get your life back too, only if you’re ready to lose it
for Christ: like Joseph who got his tomb back, God has guaranteed yours in the
Hereafter.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth
his life for my sake shall find it! You can never go wrong if you serve Jesus:
forget about all the other isms-schisms of the fanatical religious world!
Religion will never save your soul from the eternal flames of Hell: only Jesus
who died on the Cross for the sins of the World has the Power to save you. I
have come to seek and to save the lost, said Jesus!
Joseph of Arimathaea donated his brand-new tomb for the
burial of Jesus Christ; he also dressed and prepared His body by dressing it
with the most expensive spices and perfumes of his day and wrapped Jesus’s body
with fine linen. Jesus rose on the third day…and Joseph got his tomb back but
had his Heavenly Rewards Account loaded with all the surprises yet to be
revealed in the fulfilment of time. Jesus is alive and risen for the dead…He
lives inside the heart of every true Believer: those who worship God in Spirit
and in Truth. Joseph got his tomb back...
