DEATH BY SUICIDE!
Medical
Science has scored major breakthroughs regarding how the human brain functions
over the glorious recent past.
Scientists also discovered how to precisely
plot and identify specific parts of the brain which isolate and activate our
individual five senses. Remarkable, isn’t it?
Death
by suicide is one of the darkest malaise hidden inside the human brain.
Almost all known chronic diseases are
detectable and manageable in their earliest stage except suicide.
By my
own estimate, I believe at least about 50% of all suicide tendencies are
detectable; only if people closest paid enough attention.
There are always suspicious tell-tale signs of
visible self-isolation and the lack of enthusiasm to survive.
Suicide
victims always pronounce their suicidal intentions in a jest and immediately pretend
to be joking when we become apprehensive and agitated.
There are million reasons why humans decide to end their own lives. Signs are
figuratively impossible to detect even in one of the less sophisticated known reasons.
Social
bullies contribute to the increased rates of pupils committing suicide.
All kinds of stigma directed against certain
members of our communities exacerbate this Global Disease.
After
thousands of years of human existence in this God-forsaken Planet, we still haven’t
learned to live together as one.
One day early in January and decades ago, I
was just a regular boy.
The
word on the street got out one morning, that a homeless man had hung himself
behind our local cemetery.
I joined the crowds to this horrible site of
suicide. Tell you what? It was really hard for me to sleep that evening.
I was
tormented by the vision of this sad dead body dangling from the tree.
The muted noise of the crowds gathered around
to witness this suicide, gnawed into my mind in slow motion until dawn. I was
horrified.
Death
by suicide is harder and challenging to circumvent since the affected families always
wake up to this reality one day late.
A little bother of uneasiness and concentrated
little stressing, eventually lands the victim into serious life-threatening Depression.
And
before we know it, another suicide victim is found dead and now added to the
ever growing suicide list.
Only a handful number of suicide victims choose
to leave a note behind explaining their reasons why. Million others silently
disappear into Eternity!
O
what a tragedy! The suicide victims always leave us reeling from acute and
incurable pain in our hearts!
Why O why did you do this to us? We cry and bash
our heads against the walls as we seek closure for our begrudged grief.
Only
if we could see the signs maybe just maybe, we’d have avoided this unnecessary
death.
I am writing these somber notes in the Memory
of my Late Dear Friend and Colleague, Jeff Shambala.
You
see, Jeff used to cry on my shoulder and told me just how his acrimonious
divorce was affecting his life. He lost his house and kids to his former wife.
I did my best over time to counsel Jeff and always
reminded him to stay with God.
Jeff
was a Believer like me and I never imagined that one day he’d choose the easy
way out!
And worse off, Jeff discovered one evening
that his new live-in partner was into serious witchcraft.
She’d
disappear from bed at midnight only to return in the wee hours of the morning.
O God, this was even harder for me to help
ease Jeff’s depressed mind out of this. I encouraged Jeff and prayed with him.
Over
a year later, it was reported that Jeff Shambala had shot and killed himself in
a suicide. I was devastated as I mourned his sad death.
Like all the affected families of suicide
victims, I cried and cried bitter tears of Why O why Jeff!
Is
there a chance for me to meet my Dear Friend Jeff Shambala in Heaven one day? Definitely!
Heaven
is a Beautiful Place. People up there, don’t have time to reminisce about their
sad life left down below!
If you desire to see what lies behind all
those ageless mountains and hills, you must be prepared to climb all the way up.
Right?
There
are more reasons for you to go through all the pain than the sad easy way out
to end your life!
This is your God-given Will, Desire and Only Hope
to keep on keeping on! It’s impossible to see another sunrise without it!
I called upon the LORD in my Distress: the LORD Answered me, and set
me in a Large Place.
Whatever
you may be going through, it is still a Beautiful World.
Always choose to laugh and cry with all those closest
to you.
We
need you even more than you think you need yourself!
Suicide isn’t the coolest way to dream. Lift up
your eyes to God’s Mountains!
