SMALL TOWN FOLKS!

 REFLECTIONS..

A thought becomes one to me as soon as I finish processing it. Sometimes it really doesn’t matter where I am, if I feel inspired to write on anything.. I just go right ahead.

I felt the move in my heart while I was still on my way to the bank. And it really didn’t matter to me when I started writing right inside the queue. And by the time I reached the service desk I had already written almost ten stanzas.

I continued to the supermarket and did the same while queuing up for the cashier. I was really caught up in this incredible story. Small Town Folks was born while walking down the streets and minding my own business.

It took me a cool ten hours, from 13h00 - 22h00 to finish this narrative.

Sometimes I struggle to grab the end of the stick. With this narrative, I am sharing with you the other side of my slice buttered on both sides!

Story telling is one of the most difficult thing to do as a writer. This is my second raw story I have written in these pages of life apart from all the many biblical story songs I have written to date!

I was blessed and enjoyed writing this Small Town Folks story, and hope you too will be blessed as you walk with me on these imaginary streets of time.

God bless you all.

Small Town Folks!

Life in a small town is always fascinating and intriguing for all the small town folks.

No people in the whole world can trust and rely on their neighbourly friends like small town folks.

I once supported a company in the IT world and surprised myself by memorizing the names of more than a thousand individuals.

I went around those buildings  calling everyone by their names.

I guess it would be much easier for me to blend in and mix with any small town people.

Small town folks know each other even under the cover of darkness.

Some believe it is hard for anyone to keep top secrets in a small town.

They say the secret of one, nobody will know. But the secret of two, a thousand will know!

Is it any wonder why some people take all their secrets to the grave?

Only if graves could open their mouths and talk, all those secrets buried six feet under would surface.

Breaking News! Imagine small town folks waking up one day to the shocking rumours of talking graves! I believe that would be the day before the Judgment Day.

Small town folks don’t mind listening to a stranger as long as they have interesting stories to tell.

After all we’re small town folks, everything in anything goes. Paying attention to all the whispers finding their way into our ears is our lifestyle!

There are no liars in our small town, we’re all believers: even our only bar closes during church services on Sundays.

We’re small town folks and we care for each other around here.

Our survival is achieved through our neighbourliness and reliance on the word on the street.

There’s only one main road going through our town, nobody can hide from no one! We’re the small town people.

Strangers are welcome in our small town. Our town sheriff is the only vetting agent here.

If you explained yourself to the sheriff and got cleared up in his office..

You can bet on that, you’ll be known everywhere thru the word of mouth!

Hello, didn’t anyone tell you? We’re small town folks and believe in all human beings.

It’s not very difficult to blend in and become like one of us.. city folks are mobbed as celebrities here.

We’re small town folks and are pretty much interested to hear all the big stories circulated by big city people.

You see, if most of us could afford the exorbitant cost of city living, there’d be no soul left in all the small towns.

Except for a few hundreds senior folks, most small town people still dream of making it one day in big cities.

Our old folks around here, are not used to living in the bustling and huffing demanding city life.

Down here in our small town, folks can even keep and breed some livestock.

We get all the eggs we need fresh from our homegrown stock.

No amount of money in this world can buy the incredible peace of mind our small town gives!

We hear of rumours of wars and unending crimes committed in big cities..

There’s never been any reported murder in our small town for the last three decades.

We’re small town folks and our human nature has taught us how to live together in peace and harmony.

Unlike in the big cities where life is cheap, we value our neighbours wellbeing around here.

Small town folks still fear God and believe in the sanctity of human life.

My neighbour’s child is my child too. It still takes the whole town to raise a child around here

Respect and strong cultural upbringing still hold sway in our population.

There are no homeless, hungry and needy people in our society.

We’re small town folks and know how to take care of our orphans.

Big city streets, bridges and dark alleys are littered with dirty and rejected homeless and forgotten people.

We may not have all the monies big cities spend to build their skyscrapers but we’ve got the heart to take care of each other!

We’re small town folks and take pride in our well preserved and green environment.

You can still take a moment and gaze at our starry skies like you won’t find in the cities. Wow! That's the Milky Way!

We’re small town folks. There’s no comparison in the world which can rival the singing nature at night in our valleys and above.

There are no speeding cars in our small town which threaten to end the lives of our children.

We’re small town folks here. There are no trigger-happy cowboys shooting their guns, disturbing the peace at night.

We get along with everyone in our small town. Ever been inside a supermarket where shoppers. greet and shake hands with everyone?

Big city people believe they’ll go to Heaven when they die but here. Yes, small town folks practice and live like they’re in Heaven every single day of their lives!

Hello big city people! Please don’t count us out and despise our lifestyle... We’re the small town folks and always stand together as one with nature!

City people walk on the golden streets but small town folks have the hearts of gold!. Small town is golden!
