ALONE IN CROWDED STREETS!

Alone In Crowded Streets!

In the beginning of my life there was one person, my mother. Then my father pitched up, the two shared a smile and a wink.

Before I was conceived, I always lived virtually inside their shadows, smiles and joyous laughter. You see, the mood had to be right first.

These two love birds began their romantic swan dance, and every time they danced Heaven adjusted and recalibrated the target of my conception.

As nature would have it, one fine morning after a love-intoxicated evening: Mom woke up feeling heavier than usual. Dear Lord. This was my arrival.

Then, there was three people inside this love nest.

For nine long months I remained patched between my mother and father. There’s no place safer in this rugged place called Earth!

Damn. I’d pay God any amount of money if there was a Stock Exchange in Heaven....  just to keep this cosy place for life.

Like a kangaroo baby inside his mother’s pouch, I’d pop out my tiny head for the world to see, once in a while.

But alas, growing up means growing too big for my comfort!

Life kept calling from the outside world and I knew right early as a baby, I was born to walk.

To scale the highs and lows of this beautiful earth.

Alone in crowded streets for a while remained like a distant star for this boy.

My tiny world of childhood and youthful arrogance deceived me into believing that life was waiting for me.

Dreaming and interpreting life in this distant world became the order of each passing day.

I saw and believed in things the way my mind showed them to me.

Alone in crowded streets finally hit home when I became of age. Got educated, found a job, got married and started a family.

It was my turn to be my father’s journey of life!

After crash-landing from the love moon and decades later; I find myself walking alone in crowded streets.

Who’s to blame for all the ensuing mess? Oh sure, you can blame me, even though it takes two to tango.

Am cool with that!

Alone in crowded streets. Just like before I was conceived even at this time... still, the mood has to be right!

You see, God is preparing and laying out the foundation for the Heavens to receive and welcome me one fine day!

Alone in crowded streets. You may look at this man and even curse him in a jest.

Yes, go right ahead and spit at me. Do I look sad to you?
