TO EVERY GIRL CHILD!
To Every Girl Child!
Every time I meet a baby in the arms or on the back of their
mothers... I want to kiss and hold them closer to my heart.
There’s something special about babies and children. I
have a particularly soft heart towards a girl child.
Hello Beautiful. My own mother was as little as you are once upon
her life.
The little two year old angel chuckled and smiled
back. I met her touring the mall with her mother.
I owe my roots, my life to every girl child upon the face of the
earth.
It’s hard for me to believe that my mother once played
naked and barefoot in Swaziland as a little girl.
My grandparents took care of my mother from conception through
childhood right into a fully independent grown-up.
Would you believe me if I told you that all that time
my mother played with sand and mud houses; she was carrying me all around
inside her?
Oh God! Only if all
men and their boys could understand and grasp this truth for future
generations...
That every time you hurt or abuse a girl child, you destroy a
nation!
I thank God always for helping me right early to respect the fairer
sex.
I have never raised my hand against members of the
opposite sex since my childhood.
To every girl child out there in the four corners of this world...
You guys are our Goddesses and Pillars which hold
Mother Earth and Mother Nature together!
Without the survival of every girl child, our future and the perpetuity
of mankind is doomed.
The world must work a little harder to liberate girls
thru education and all forms of empowerment.
To every girl child out there and about. I breathe today as a grown
man because this world allowed and afforded the same space to my mother.
Only God knows just how I wish sometimes, to hear how
my mother grew up. To watch her play with other kids in her neighbourhood!
Talking to four final year high school girls the other day. Hello
my Princesses.
Did you learn anything at school today? They all
smiled and were pleasantly surprised to see me interested in their well being.
They spoke so candid with me as if we’ve known each other for years,
it was magic. I spent the whole fifteen minutes giving them some life lessons.
To every girl child all around my neighbourhood. These
beauties listened well as I urged them to stick to their dreams and deny silly
boys from controlling them!
You girls owe it to yourselves and your parents to avoid baggage
which will bring conflict and derail your studies
I felt good after talking to these girls just two
weeks before their final matric exam. I wished them luck and we fist-bumped and
parted.
To every girl child old enough to understand my address today. You
need to work harder than boys since it’s girls who carry all the baggage left
behind.
Sometimes in the darkest night, I look up at the stars
above and see my mother’s face smiling down on me!
My Mother’s Survival as a girl child became my Birthday Present
from God Above! Wow!
