Here's Anathi's Reprisal I wrote for his third birthday. I wrote it in my mother tongue, Xhosa vocabulary that is. There's no way to make it make sense in English.

The Big Zero Five!

Hello. My name is King Anathi Gutyungwa. I am five years old.

I overheard my kindergarten teachers whispering, wisdom for kids like me... comes in multiples of five!

So Yes! Five I am, five I come and five I stand... all the way to Ten! I will be ten times smarter by the time I hit ten!

The Big Zero Five I am. The Big Zero Five I come and stand all the way to the Super Ten! I am King Anathi Gutyungwa.

I smile when I’m sad and laugh out loud when I’m angry. Cry? Who, Me? Nah. I leave that to babies!

By the time I hit two, this boy in me could master the smartphone like a seasoned Pro. Believe me when I say, I’m smarter than smart.

Wow. My grandson! Smiling down from Heaven, Great Grandmother Delta.

They all say dynamite comes in small packages. But hey, this dynamite isn’t ready yet to explode and burst into the Theatre of Dreams, this World is!

Whoa! Just look how tall a mountain these giant ladders I must climb! What an awesome challenge for the King! What a marathon of a race to run.

Looking at my giant watch around my wrist. I still have one more year to round off my Kindergarten Diploma.

Who said it was easy to be a kid? It will take me another 12 years to finish my formal education before jumping into young adulthood!

Hello Mom and Dad! Do not panic or be worriedly concerned. This your boy won’t give you sleepless nights!

I pledge myself to be a good and obedient son all the way to the top!

Yes I know! It takes a lot of playing hard and eating well for us kids to grow into ironman one day in life!

BETWEEN THE EARS!

  Between The Ears! Hearing in a newborn baby, is one of the earliest activated senses... even before this baby could see. Words get spoken out and start to reverberate around the head and get trapped between the ears before they make sense to the brain. Babies, learn to interpret sign language and by reading lips ahead of understanding the language spoken in their homes. Is it not amazing and refreshing that we learned to smile after seeing our mothers demonstrate their warm smiles and mimicked them joyfully kicking with all fours? Between the ears... Our North and South Poles... sustaining our lives through balanced intelligence.
