A WORD IN SEASON!
A Word In Season!
Hundreds of years ago in the Bible Days. A young twelve year old boy
named Samuel was the Temple Assistant to the aging High Priest called Eli.
While sleeping soundly one evening in the Temple, the
boy heard what sounded like a voice breaking through icy waters... calling his
name!
Samuel, Samuel!
The young man jumped to his feet and ran to Eli His
master.
After waking up the Priest the second time, Eli advised the boy to
answer thus...
Speak Lord, thy servant listeneth!
And as sure as the sun, God called the young Samuel for the third
time. The boy responded as was advised by the High Priest.
Eli like many men of God before his time, knew that he
could not bottle God and keep Him in his briefcase like today’s false prophets.
And Samuel told Eli everything the Lord said to him and hid nothing
from him.
And Eli said... It is the LORD: let Him do what
seemeth good to Him.
A Word In Season was all that God wanted and waited for Eli to
pronounce and free the young man for God’s use.
Samuel like Prophet Moses, was one of the handful
people who actually heard the Real Voice of God in human history!
Sometimes, I sit back and try to imagine just what it felt like to
the ears and the heart of little Samuel: to hear God’s Voice.
While many mortals like myself maybe awed, overcome
and star-struck By Samuel’s experience...
This Present World was once visited by God in the Person of Christ:
two thousand years ago.
Only God can provide a Word in Season which can
sustain a man for the rest of his earthly life.
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should
know how to Speak A Word In Season to him that is weary.
He wakeneth morning by morning, He wakeneth mine ear
to Hear as the learned.
These awesome words were recorded by another young man in the
person of Isaiah the Prophet.
A Word in Season was all that Isaiah needed to
dedicate his whole life for God to guide and use him, at His own discretion.
Believe me. I have no human vocabulary to describe in details just
how the Lord operates. God said to men...
My ways and thoughts are not like yours.
God is All-Spirit and Divine while man remains flesh and blood and
limited.
Foolishness and the perverse mind has taught men that God
is waiting for them to rise up and ascend to the Throne of His Presence.
Not so, reads my Bible. It was God the Divine who reached way down
to the floors of the Temple... and reached out to young Samuel!
A Word In Season. There was mutiny and mayhem
committed by Eli’s two sons in the Temple.
These two outlaws robbed worshippers, stole meat meant for
sacrifices from the priests and raped women too.
This story is not strange to today’s modern church.
All the corruption and whoredom committed by the fraudulent so-called
men of god and their equally corrupt family members.
As God swore to young Samuel to wipe out Eli and his
wicked sons from the History of the Priesthood.
Eli’s two sons were killed in the battle by the Philistines and the
98 year old Priest fell backwards, broke his neck and died after receiving the
sad news!
A Word in Season. One of Eli’s daughter in-law had
just given birth when all this was happening.
She named her baby boy Iqbal... meaning The Glory of God has departed. What a shame!
And Samuel grew and the LORD was with him, and did let
none of His Words fall to the ground.
And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was
established to be a Prophet of the LORD.
A Word in Season from the Lord. The Voice of God fell
into the ears and heart of young Samuel.
Israel was saved from a guaranteed extinction after Eli failed to
rebuke his wicked sons.
But God through little Samuel, people’s hearts and
faith were renewed for generations to come.
A Word in Season. God shines through every word I write in His
honour and affirms my life daily!
God challenges and shapes my life through the very
Word in Season which He sustains me thereby.
A Word in Season. Time fails me to tell you about David and John
the Baptist.
About the young Stephen and the zealous Pharisee named
Saul of Tarsus.
A Word in Season is all I need to walk with God right to my grave!
I dare say...
That I may know Him, and the Power of His Resurrection, and the
Fellowship of His Sufferings, being made conformable unto His Death.
