My Honorary Commencement Address For 2025 And Yonder!

It is with great humility and honour to stand before you in the comfort of your home and wherever you are.

I thank the Almighty God for inspiring me to deliver this little speech of mine to the entire world.

This once in my lifetime commencement address took shape after listening in stitches, to Kermit The Frog; delivering his first ever address to the graduates at the University of Maryland.

Yes, I have been a fan of Kermit the Frog and the whole cast of Sesame Street since my childhood but: I wasn’t going to be outdone by the Frog!

“As you prepare to take this big leap into real life, here’s a little advice... if you will listen to a Frog.” The beloved Muppet said.

“Rather than jumping over someone to get what you want, consider reaching out your hand and taking the leap side by side, because life is better when we leap together.”

Wow! These are very profound words of wisdom coming from Kermit The Frog!

To all the graduates of the year 2025 and to the end of time. I would like to offer my little advice, if you will listen to the unknown stranger like me.

Your incredible journey thus far, has not been easy like walking in the rose garden.

You sacrificed and compromised everything and starved yourself of all the tempting fun which was going all around your disciplined world.

You remained focused and fixated to your dreams of catching up with the end of your rainbow, ultimately finding yourself standing at the crossroads of your life.

Your future and the reality of all your dreams begin in earnest, today.  Today is the future you have been dreaming about since childhood.

Many of you will be horrified and shaken to your core, after finding out that the world you saw in your future, is not the same world you find yourself in today!

It is with a very sad heart I am saying the following, please believe me, this is no laughing matter.

While I find your generation very inspiring and daring to face all the challenges and debris littered along your path to the world of triumph and unlimited success: I really do not envy you.

Your generation and the future generations, face the most difficult times and all kinds of challenges never seen in the history of humanity.

Almost all the generations and fellow graduates before this generation, have never had to compete with so much unprecedented dilemma. 

I hereby exhort you not to believe the lies that the AI is here to assist and work side by side with you.

I hate to be the prophet of doom who unwittingly defuses your dreams of living in a world which will value your collective input to build and fortify the survival of humanity and our future generations.

Be that as it maybe, I still believe in humanity and my heart remains filled with hope; that your generation and yonder, will save this war-infested world and change it for the better.

Today our world finds itself at the crossroads tantamount to the last two World Wars.

I encourage you to look around and check the global leaders of today: I bet a million I do not have; 98% of these leaders all qualify to be sitting in their homes and playing with their great grandchildren.

Only 2% of our global leaders today can be classified as young and middle aged.

I am a believer that your generation will one day, be able to seize the reigns from all these crazy warmongers and one-foot-in-the-grave carefree and nothing-to-lose-retirees with young, qualified people.

Our world is tired of populous leaders like Donald Trump who sees himself as the emperor of the world.

This man has had his days, talking loosely about starting the 3rd World War means nothing to him. The sucker knows his days are numbered, and so what?

It is encumbered upon the graduating class of 2025 and yonder to fight with whatever it takes, for world peace.

Without peace, this world is going to perish even with all the Artificial Intelligence at our disposal.

Robots are not here to save humanity and our world but to take over and subjugate our mental productivity.

Finally, please, do not stop using your brain power and do not surrender your common sense to AI.

After all the technological developments to the contrary: it will still take daring young people like your generation, to keep this confused world in the straight and narrow!

I thank you for your time and undivided attention to my little soliloquy.

THESE STREETS!

These Streets! One cannot forget these intimidating up and down stares furiously targeting the good citizens of this town. Who are these people, these faceless bullies and where did they come from? We used to fill and occupy these streets from corner to corner and screamed all day long as kids. Hey. We feared nothing at all because these streets belonged to us. We will not allow our streets to be deserted in broad daylight as if we’re back to pandemic days! My mother and father were born and met on these streets. I lived under their shadows after they introduced me to these same streets. I grew up on these streets, I know and speak the language of these streets and unreservedly own these streets. These streets gifted me my place in the sun and all the wokeness that comes with my birthright. ARE WE THERE YET!

  Are We There Yet! But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in Heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. I can still vividly remember, how people in South Africa were outraged and incensed after a baby of six months was brutally raped. I was seething and frothing with unimaginable revenge and pure hatred for that evil man who had raped the helpless baby! This was back in the late nineties. O’ for the pain we all felt in our hearts, for this evil which we had never heard of before! There is something strange about human nature. Shocking!   How soon do we accommodate evil and brush it off when it happens on a rebound?
